We took the ribbons down today at Craigie Church with Alan's mum and sister Rosie, my mum and dad and the minister Carolanne. There were over 350 ribbons, some tied in what seemed like professional knots and our hands were aching a bit in the cold! It didn't feel sad, even though this is the end of another chapter for us and Alexis, it was more cheering to feel how much support the community wanted to give us. The ribbons came about because people in our area knew about what had happened with Alexis and were asking the minister what they could do to help us. The ribbons were left in bags at the Church and people could help themselves and tied them onto the Church gates as a visible sign of their concern. We have kept all the ribbons and gave some to our family and special people in our life.
