Story

To help raise awareness & funds for the Meningitis Trust our good friend Ian Holden is taking part in the Tour De Ben Nevis mountain bike endurance, marathon. The route takes competitors through 72km of the most rugged terrain in Scotland, if not the world. Starting in Ft William and following mountain tracks, estate & drovers roads it circumnavigates Ben Nevis via Kinlochleven, Spean Bridge and Torlundy before returning to Ft William. In the true spirit of mountain biking competitors must be self sufficient for the duration of the event (5-10 hours), which includes a river crossing (carry bike & wade) and a climb to over 2500 feet above sea level. The race will be physically & mentally challenging but knowing that completing it will raise funds to help support families and survivors will spur Ian on. Your donations will directly help those affected by meningitis. You can also donate using Ian's Just Giving page on the internet.
